BOEM's new men's Christian discussion group has now met twice, successfully.
How about a name? One member suggested "MeChriDiGru" in the Korean tradition of shortening all names for things (=Men's Christian Discussion Group). "One of strangest names for something I've ever heard," was one reaction. Submit ideas for new names to discussion group leader Michael! (And contact him for information on joining the discussion group.) BOEM was honored to host Mr. Santosh, a young seminary student currently studying in Seoul. (BOEM's gracious pastor Jenna often invites guest preachers from all over the world to deliver the sermons at BOEM).
Santosh's sermon was about triumphing over adversity in Christ. He explained that in his boyhood in Nepal there was a Maoist insurgency (1996-2006). His father, a Christian pastor, and his family were attacked by Maoists and beaten. His family fled the village to the capital city. Just one week later, his father, still bruised and weakened from the attack, boldly said his place was back in the village. He went. He reconstructed the church. That church still stands in 2015, and is now an active faith community! BOEM member Michael will lead a men's Christian discussion group at 1:30 PM on Sundays (ahead of service at 2:30 PM). The location is in a small room near the BOEM worship hall.
Contact the pastor or Michael directly for more information. Sandwiches and drinks will be provided! |
