Christmas is a national holiday by law in South Korea, but the frivolous way it is marked by ordinary Koreans can be puzzling to many of us. But fear not, for BOEM brings you good tidings of great joy!
Part I: Christmas Service and Movie
Time: 11:00 to 12:30 PM, Thursday Dec. 25th 2014
Place: Bucheon Onnuri Church, main building, 2nd floor
What: We will join the main Korean congregation for a brief Christmas worship service in honor of the birth of Christ. Thereafter Onnuri will be a screening a film about Christian patriot the Rev. Sohn Yang Won (1902-1950). Our pastor will graciously translate into English.
Part II: Christmas Meal / Carols / Gift Exchange Game
Time: 12:30 to 2:00 PM
Place: Regular BOEM Worship Room (Vision Hall)
What: Enjoy a hearty Christmas meal provided by BOEM. Christmas carols are probably inevitable. Then the exciting gift exchange game.
To Bring: A wrapped gift (of anything). Spend at most 10,000 Won. We will play the "White Elephant gift giving game". You will receive someone else's gift at the end of our game.
What else to bring: Some Christmas cheer, of course.
All are welcome to Christmas festivities at BOEM!
